Studio Visit: DKV UPH goes to Kelly’s and Co.

On June 11, 2026, students enrolled in the Design Management course participated in a Studio Visit to Kelly’s Co., a creative studio specializing in illustration and Intellectual Property (IP) development. The visit was organized as part of the course’s learning activities to provide students with firsthand exposure to the creative industry and a deeper understanding of how illustration-based businesses are developed and managed.

The session began with an introduction to Kelly’s Co., where students learned about the studio’s background, creative philosophy, and portfolio of works. Through a series of presentations and case studies, the team shared insights into their creative process, from developing original characters and illustrations to transforming them into strong and consistent brand assets. Students were also introduced to the challenges and opportunities involved in building Intellectual Property as a sustainable business model within the creative industry.

Following the presentation, students participated in an interactive question-and-answer session with the Kelly’s Co. team. This discussion provided valuable insights into the realities of working in the creative field, including project management, client relationships, business development, and the importance of maintaining a distinctive creative identity.

The visit concluded with an office tour, allowing students to experience the studio’s working environment and creative culture firsthand. Students also had the opportunity to explore Kelly’s Co.’s merchandise and product displays, gaining a better understanding of how original illustration-based IP can be extended into commercial products and brand experiences.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Kelly’s Co. for warmly welcoming our students and generously sharing their knowledge and experiences. We also thank the lecturers and students who participated in this visit. We hope the insights gained from this experience will inspire students in their future creative and professional journeys.
